Hall of Fame
Since 2012 the CDA has nominated dancers who have done the most to promote and encourageBallroom Dancing in South America and inaugurated them into the "South American Hall of Fame"
2014: Yanina Koretska, Argentina
Yanina (With Eugenio above) is from Ukraine where she
began her dance career at a young age. She is a former
South American Open Champion and is an acknowledged
trainer of aspiring competitive dancers. Yanina is responsible for
training many other teachers who represent her
throughout Argentina.
2014: Eugenio Dmytrenko, Argentina
Eugenio (and Yanina) arrived in Argentina from Ukraine
over ten years ago and began building a dance business
from scratch! In 2006 they formed the Asociation
Argentina de Ballroom Dance y Sport Dance which was a
founding member of the CDA. Since 2014 Eugenio has run the
Dance Sport Center at Av. Corrientes. Eugenio and partner
Mary Lenz are South American Open Champions.
2013: Jose Luis Tejo, Chile
MR. DANCING in Chile! The Jose Luis Tejo Academia de
Baile in Santaigo is responsible for training almost all of the
top dancers in Chile at some time. He has studied
throughout Europe and the USA. Jose Luis is the head
judge on Dancing With The Stars Chile and is
acknowledged and respected by the Government (and
every dancer in South America). His passion for progressing
Ballroom Dance in South America is never questioned.
2012: Elizabeth Guerrero, Argentina
"Ely" spent several years working and studying at Arthur Murray in Miami before returning to her home city.
She owns a dance school in Centro and also operates a successful Teacher Training College. Ely has qualified many teachers in Busenos Aires in the DVIDIA
syllabus and is acknowledged as the "American Style" expert in Argentina.
She is also a well known Argentine Tanguaera; performing for many years at El Querandi one of the cioties top Tango Houses.
